Desi Arnaiz to Announce Candidacy

Manassas —Desi Arnaiz will formally announce his candidacy for the Brentsville seat on the Prince William County School Board on Thursday, February 22nd at 7 p.m. at the Nokesville Volunteer Fire Department. Arnaiz is seeking the Republican nomination for the School Board seat which is being vacated by Milt Johns, who is campaigning for Chairman of the Prince William County School Board.

"The qualities that I bring to the School Board are my background in education, my business and management skills and my large-scale budget experience. I also bring the unique perspective of a parent: my youngest daughter graduated from Osborn Park, and now my granddaughter attends Woodbridge Senior High School,” said Arnaiz.

A Brentsville resident since 1992, Arnaiz is the owner and president of Virginia Systems, Inc. (VASI), a full-service IT company. In 2006, Arnaiz’ company won two prestigious local awards: the City of Manassas 2006 Mayor’s Small Business Award, and the Louis E. Maroon Business of the Year Award from the Prince William Greater-Manassas Chamber of Commerce.

Arnaiz graduated with a K-12 teaching certificate from the University of Colorado. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at NOVA and is currently on the American Military University’s Intelligence Advisory Council for curriculum development.

He is currently serving as a Stafford Regional Airport Authority Commissioner; he was appointed to the position by the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. He also serves on the Prince William County Economic Development Committee and on the Board of Directors of the Prince William County Regional Chamber of Commerce. His wife, Cheri Arnaiz, is a board member of the Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce.

He is the President of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 617, a member of American Legion Post 10, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Air Force Association and the Potomac Nationals Booster Club.
